Elections 10/11

If you feel like keeping the Erasmus spirit alive, this is your chance. The Erasmus Society is looking for enthusiastic new members to make up next year's committee. Currently, the Erasmus Society is an active medium-sized society with over 150 members and around 50 active members from a dozen different nationalities. It tries to organise two socials a week on a casual and informal basis. As all of us, apart from our webmaster, are unable to continue our work in the society next year, we hope to interest you in one of the following positions:

President

In charge of general affairs

Chairs committee meetings

Represents the society at events

Final responsibility for activities

Secretary

Secretarial tasks

PR

Publication of newsletter and events

Treasurer

Finances

Welfare Officer 1-2 person(s)

In charge of tandem, buddy and borrowable items programs

General help with problems and enquiries

Social Reps 2-4 persons

Organisation of socials

Organisation of trips

AS some of you will still be abroad, we are aware it is possible you will not be able to attend the elections in person. In order to give you a fair chance, we would like to offer you the opportunity to run by offering every candidate an 500-word online platform on our website www.erasmussoc-york.com to publish their ideas and views.

If you feel like running for any of these positions, please contact us on erasmussoc@gmail.com before 25th of June, 2010. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail us, contact our president Maarten on mvs501@york.ac.uk, or come to meet us in person on Wednesday the 9th of June between 12h00 and 13h15 in V-Bar for a coffee and a chat. Elections will be held in Week 10.

We hope to hear from you soon!
